My first blog post !

Hello and welcome to my very first blog post ! I have finally come around to developing my website, including this blog - it is still in an early stage but should be readable already.

To the main content of this post: this afternoon I was able to film some young blue tits in our garden, probably from this year as they were still a bit small. It was cloudy and cool outside, and I had originally tried to take photos of some bird of prey but failed. The trees around me were full of tits and sparrows, and after taking a few photos of those I was already preparing to go, when suddenly two blue tits came fluttering out of the nearest fir tree and started bathing in our homemade bird bath consisting of an old plastic barrel and the coaster of a flower pot which conviniently fitts into the opening of the barrel. I immediately started filming, and they bathed more than a minute just 1.5 to 2 meters (5 - 6 ft) away from me ! After one of them left - dripping wet - and perched in a pine tree to dry a third one came, but only perched on the rim of the coaster and drank a few sips. The second one shortly perched in our vine after having had enough cold water in its feathers and I tried to film it there but failed to find it because my camera lacks a viewfinder … Here is the raw footage:
